Kaia Gerber Makes First Comments on Dating Marvel Star Lewis Pullman

Kaia Gerber is opening up about mending old wounds through her connection with Lewis Pullman.

During the Wednesday, Oct. 1 episode of the Therapuss with Jake Shane podcast, the model, 24, made her first comments on her relationship with the Top Gun: Maverick actor, 32, sharing insight on how their romance has made a positive impact in her life.

“A lot is being healed in this relationship,” said the Saturday Night actress while host Jake Shane agreed that the pair make a “healthy couple.”

Gerber went on to explain how dating a “friend” has proven to be beneficial. “I really feel like if you have the opportunity to date a friend, do it, because it just is so much better,” she said. “I would never want to fight with my friends. I never want to be mad at my friends. I respect my friends. It just is a whole other thing.”

She also revealed how Pullman has easily integrated into her inner circling, even going as far as describing him has her friend group’s “boyfriend.”

Another dating topic Gerber spoke on is her outlook on age gaps. She and Pullman have eight years between them, while Gerber and her ex, Austin Butler, dated with a 10-year gap between them.

“…I would completely just change my personality and my values for someone. I always dated people that were older than me, and so I was very willing to give up everything,” she explained.

“I was like, I can show you I love you by completely, giving up my life for you, which is actually not how you build respect and trust and is not good in the long run,” she added. “Then you start to bring a little bit more of who you really are into the relationship and they’re like, no, I like that person before.”

Gerber and Pullman were romantically linked in January when they were spotted cozying up at his birthday party just weeks after her split from Butler. A source told PEOPLE of the current pair, “They’re a cute couple and very low-key.”

At theThunderbolts* premiere in April, Pullman remained mum about his relationship status, dodging a remark from an ET reporter about a “certain brunette.” However, it wasn’t long until he made his romance with Gerber red carpet official at the Venice Film Festival for the premiere ofThe Testament of Ann Lee on Sept. 1.

Gerber dressed up in a Spring 2026 Givenchy lace gown with a sheer top, while Pullman opted for a suit and bow-tie. During the event, the two engaged steamy kiss, which has become a common theme in their public outings.

The event was part of a growing list of milestones for the couple, as this summer, a source told PEOPLE that Pullman has already won over the hearts of Gerber’s famous parents, Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber. “Lewis has met Kaia’s parents, and they really like him,” the source said at the time.

The insider also commented on the nature of Pullman and Gerber’s chemistry. “Kaia and Lewis have been spending a lot of time together, and things feel easy and natural between them. Kaia’s really into Lewis, and things are going great.”
