Oklo (OKLO), the maker of small, modular nuclear power reactors, and Vertiv Holdings (VRT) announced Tuesday that they were forming a partnership providing power and cooling for AI data centers.

Ohio-based Vertiv VRT makes data-center equipment, including power and cooling systems. The companies said they would use heat from California-based Oklo’s onsite power plant to power Vertiv’s cooling systems with the aim of making data centers more energy-efficient. The collaboration will focus on “hyperscale and colocation data centers,” they said.

The announcement sent their shares falling in intraday trading Tuesday.

Oklo CEO Jacob DeWitte said that the companies will be “delivering clean power, energy-efficient cooling, and infrastructure solutions purpose-built for AI factories, data centers, and high density compute.”

Vertiv CEO Gio Albertazzi said that with the skyrocketing growth of AI and high-performance computing, “nuclear energy is increasingly a discussion point for hyperscale, colocation, and other large data centers.”

Oklo shares are down more than 4% at midday Tuesday but have soared 180% so far this year. Shares of Vertiv Holdings are off slightly more than 1%, although they have gained nearly 10% in 2025.
