CINCINNATI (WXIX) – A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect until 9 a.m. Sunday for Fayette, Union, and Franklin counties in southeast Indiana, and Butler and Warren counties, as the Tri-State faces a chance of snow showers Saturday, according to the FOX19 NOW Weather Team.

About one inch of snow is forecast in the advisory areas. The possibility for accumulating snow in Cincinnati does not arrive until later Saturday as temperatures drop from the mid-30s into the low 30s Saturday evening.

Heavier snowfall totals are expected northwest of Cincinnati toward Fayette, Union, Franklin, and northwestern Butler counties, where up to two inches is possible. Areas around Interstate 275 and downtown Cincinnati will see less snowfall Saturday, with anywhere between no accumulation and a half-inch of snow possible. Areas southeast of Cincinnati will see little to no snow.

As warm air moves into the Tri-State overnight into Sunday, snow will transition into rain. This will help melt any snow that accumulates.

Rain briefly turns to snow Sunday morning, which could lead to some additional light accumulations west of Cincinnati. Sunday will be mostly dry, but cold and windy with temperatures in the 30s and wind chills in the 20s. Wind gusts could reach 30 to 35 mph.
