Good Friday morning! Another cold day today, very similar to Thanksgiving yesterday. We will remain mostly cloudy today with a few flurries drifting down from Lake Michigan and even a few light snow showers possible to the north. Temps are starting off in the upper 20s and wind chills are in the teens. We will warm to a high around 34 today with wind chills in the 20s. Staying cold tonight with lighter winds and partly cloudy skies as temps dip into the lower 20s.
Snow and a wintry mix are on the way for the weekend. An area of low pressure is moving over the Rockies this morning, and it will pass over the Great Lakes by Saturday night and Sunday morning. This is what will bring us our next round of wintry weather. Saturday will start with partly cloudy skies, and then more clouds will move in for Central Ohio. We warm to a high around 36 on Saturday, then fall into the lower 30s in the evening. A few light snow showers are possible Saturday afternoon, moving in from the west, but the snow showers will pick up in coverage and intensity by the late evening and overnight. By Sunday morning, our temperatures start warming up into the mid-upper 30s, with rain to start mixing in with the showers. Rain will melt some of the fallen snow and turn any snowy roads to slush for Monday morning. Right no,w that rain line looks to lift north into Columbus and even a little farther north. Areas that stay all snow, north/western parts of Central Ohio, could see 1”-3” of snow then some melting, and far NW Ohio may even pick up more than that. HOWEVER, anywhere that picks up rain early Sunday will see much less snow by the time the system leaves because of melting. It all wraps up by midday Sunday with a high around 39, so roads will generally be wet by that point. The worst travel conditions for Central Ohio will be during the overnight hours Saturday night into early Sunday morning, before the rain arrives, then roads will generally be wet at that point. So if you are traveling to Ann Arbor for the Ohio State game midday on Saturday, the safest option would be to leave right after the game because they will get the snow will fall around the same timeframe as Central Ohio, and conditions will deteriorate after the sun sets and continue getting worse overnight.

A brief break from the snow Monday, then more snow on Tuesday. Monday will be mostly cloudy with a high of around 33. More snow showers move in from the south on Monday evening and we will continue to have snow for Tuesday morning. We will have temps in the mid 20s Tuesday morning for it to stay all snow for Central Ohio, but far Southern and Southeastern Ohio will be very close to the rain/snow line. We will keep an eye on the timing and track of this system as well because another light snow accumulation is expected, but not as likely to have the rain for Central Ohio. Cold and quiet most of Wednesday and Thursday with highs in the low-mid 30s. A few light snow showers are possible later Thursday into Friday. Have a good one!
