FORECAST: Severe risk late tonight

Thanks for logging on to KOCO.com or the KOCO mobile app. I’m meteorologist Sabrina Bates with *** look at your forecast for the rest of your Sunday evening. There is *** chance for some severe storms in parts of the state, so let’s break it down. I’m gonna be watching for storms that are over into Kansas right now to make *** dive down towards Oklahoma. As of now, they look like they’re going to be heading closer towards the Oklahoma Panhandle, but we will have to watch western Oklahoma for some strong to severe storm. Level 1 marginal risk. Now for the biggest threat we’re looking at winds up to around 60 miles an hour. We could see some pockets of strong winds up to 70, and then you’re also looking at that hail threat mainly up to about the size of quarters. Now over towards central Oklahoma we may get some rain, but I do think most of the more intense storms are going to be staying *** bit closer towards western parts of the state. So walking through our predictor 89, 10 o’clock watching those storms make *** bee line down towards far. Northern Oklahoma, those storms will continue to make *** dive down towards I-40 as we go after midnight, rumbles of thunder here along with that severe weather risk. By the time that you wake up early on your Monday morning, those storms are going to be closer down towards the Red River, southern Oklahoma, and then by second part of the day on Monday, we are going to be drying out.
