We’re right in the middle of this month’s eclipse season, which means that your emotions — or your routines — might be a bit unsettled. Otherwise, though, it’s a relatively quiet day astrologically, with the moon spending all day in Taurus before linking up with Mercury at night to give a boost to your intuition. Late-night revelations aren’t always the most reliable, but tonight, you can probably trust that there’s something to them.

It can feel as though all you do is rush around putting out fires, solving problems as they arise. And while you’re good at thinking on your feet and probably find it at least somewhat rewarding, a part of you also wishes that you weren’t always forced to contend with one issue after another. You want more time to proactively plan your next steps, to be a bit more intentional about the course of your life. Today, you might get a bit of breathing room to do exactly that, so try to make the most of it.

You understand that there are more important things to life than just having fun. It’s not that you don’t care about enjoying yourself, just that you try to be diligent about fulfilling your obligations first. Lately, though, your sense of responsibility has made daily life feel like a bit of a slog, so today, make a point of letting loose. You don’t need to make the most practical choice every single time, so for now, opt for creativity and playfulness wherever you can.

When you have emotions you’re not proud of — jealousy or fear, for instance — it’s easy to imagine that you’re the only person in the world who feels this way. Everyone else seems to have it all together, and it makes you feel like there’s something wrong with you. But just because people don’t always talk about their ugly feelings, that doesn’t mean they don’t exist. Today, if you open up to the people who love you, you’ll probably find that their inner lives are just as messy as yours.

You tend to assume that the real work of relationship-building happens in serious conversations. Casual, lighthearted interactions have their place too, of course, but part of you sees them as less important than the discussions of important issues and deeper feelings. Today, though, don’t be too quick to write off seemingly shallow smalltalk. You’ll be surprised at how much you can learn about your friends, and how much you can strengthen your connection, in the small, ordinary moments.

For the most part, you trust that your friends are doing their best to make you feel valued — the trouble is that in spite of their good intentions, it’s not always enough. Maybe they’re expressing their love in ways that simply don’t register to you, or maybe they assume that you’re too independent to need much from them. If you’re feeling neglected today, give some thought to what would make you feel cared for, and don’t be shy about letting others know.

The best thing you can do for yourself, today, is remember that if you’re not happy, you’re allowed to make a change. It sounds obvious, but it can be easy to think that you have an obligation to keep living the same way you always have, to stick to the path you’ve been on up until now. In reality, though, there are so many options available to you, and it’s never too late to reassess. It might feel like inertia has too strong a hold on you, but it’ll all be easier after you take the first step.

You do your best not to be weighed down by regret. You understand that everyone has things they wish they’d done differently, and all you can do is learn from those experiences and keep moving forward. Sometimes, though, when you consider the mistakes you’ve made in the past, you get caught in an endless loop of guilt and self-recrimination. Today, if you’re going to think about the past, try not to center your reflection on blame. Letting yourself learn from your errors will allow you to do better still in the future.

You’re good at reading between the lines, but lately, you’re sick of it. You wish people would get straight to the point, instead of making you guess what they’re trying to say. Today, though, try to remember that sometimes people genuinely struggle to express themselves clearly, and that doesn’t mean it’s not worth the effort to understand them. If you can show a bit of extra patience right now and give others space to think out loud, ou’ll be glad you didn’t give up on them.

When conversations turn to heavier matters, and especially to your own deeper feelings, it can be tempting to relieve the discomfort by turning everything into a joke. But today, you’ll do yourself a disservice if you fail to take anything seriously. There’s nothing shameful about feeling things deeply, and your friends won’t find it burdensome to talk through it with you. Trusting others with these kinds of conversations will strengthen your relationships, and you’ll feel so much lighter if you stop trying to carry everything alone.

Although you probably have friends who love to have big, wide-ranging discussions about their lofty dreams and life philosophies, you tend to get frustrated when conversations aren’t grounded in the real world. You don’t see the point of dreaming up exciting plans if there’s no chance of actually implementing them. Today, though, it might be surprisingly helpful to let your thoughts wander. You’ll have plenty of time later to get practical; for now, see what kinds of new and innovative ideas come up when you let your imagination take the lead.

If you aren’t sure what you think about an issue, or if you’re struggling to make a decision, it might be because you’re feeling a bit indecisive — but it could also be because you don’t yet have all the information you need. This is a great day to do a bit of extra digging, whether that means researching your options, asking questions, or talking to friends who have been in similar situations before. The more knowledge you can gather now, the more confident you’ll be once you finally make up your mind.

You tend to get frustrated when others encourage you to listen to opposing viewpoints. It’s not that you think you’re right about everything, just that you know that there are plenty of opinions not worth considering: They’re either completely uninformed, or they’re based on values you wholeheartedly disagree with. Today, though, remember that some of the people who disagree with you do have a point. So if they’re engaging in good faith, do your best to listen — it might not change your mind, but at the very least, it’ll help you to clarify your thinking.
