Ex-Yankees outfielder: Star infielder ‘has another level in him’

Second baseman Jazz Chisholm is closing in on the first 30/30 season by a Yankees player in more than two decades, and one former Yankee believes he still “has another level in him.”

“I swear Jazz has another level in him if he really locks in on the game while still being his full charismatic self he could do some straight up special things in pinstripes,” ex-Yankee Cameron Maybin posted on social media.

Chisholm went 3-for-4 with two home runs and three RBIs in Tuesday’s 7-1 win at the Houston Astros.

He’s now at 28 homers and 26 steals for the season.

After the game, he told Randy Miller of NJ Advance Media he’s eyeing the first 30/30 season since Alfonso Soriano did it back-to-back in 2002-03.

Chisholm also wants to join the exclusive 40/40 club – if not this season, then in 2026. Only six players in MLB history have accomplished that feat: Jose Canseco, Barry Bonds, Alex Rodriguez, Soriano, Ronald Acuña Jr., and Shohei Ohtani.

“My whole career I felt like I could be better than 30/30 every time if I stayed healthy,” Chisholm told Miller. “Even though I didn’t really stay healthy this year, I’m still showing that I could get there.”
