Former Alabama ball-carrier wins NFL award for second time in 3 games

For the second time in three weeks, Detroit Lions running back Jahmyr Gibbs is the NFC Offensive Player of the Week.

When the former Alabama ball-carrier won the award for Week 10 of the 2025 NFL season, he ran for 142 yards and two touchdowns on 15 carries and caught three passes for 30 yards and one touchdown in a 44-22 victory over the Washington Commanders on Nov. 9.

Gibbs received the award for Week 12 after running for 219 yards and two touchdowns on 15 carries and catching 11 passes for 45 yards and one touchdown in a 34-27 overtime victory against the New York Giants on Sunday.

While reaching career highs for single-game receptions, rushing yards and yards from scrimmage, Gibbs ripped off a 69-yard touchdown run on the first snap of the overtime period.

Gibbs joined Pro Football Hall of Fame running back LaDainian Tomlinson as the only players in NFL history to have 200 rushing yards and 10 receptions in the same game.
