Kelly Clarkson didn’t mince words reacting to a cellist’s performance.
During her Las Vegas residency Studio Sessions show at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace on Saturday, Aug. 2, Clarkson, 43, incorporated her fan-favorite Kellyoke sessions into the show. The intro for her cover of Radiohead’s “Creep” was so “beautiful” that it led her to drop an f-bomb onstage.
“This is one of my favorite songs to cover,” Clarkson said of the 1992 hit. “Look, nothing is better than the original, I’m going to own that right now, but I’m going to do my best to just, like, have fun with it.”

While the band played the introduction to the song, Clarkson was shocked by how “beautiful” the performance was. “Oh my God, I missed this part in rehearsal,” she said, gesturing to the cellist while the audience applauded.
“I can’t even… Ismael.. what the f—?” the American Idol album added, referring to beaming musician Ismael Ariel Guerrero Bombut, and then asked the band to start over for her.
Clarkson, still in awe, asked her band if they could start over. “I wasn’t ready,” she said. “Do it again, I want to watch!” The band started the song over so Clarkson could take in the cellist’s performance.
“I love to perform this song so much!! Also, @ismacello, that was so incredibly beautiful!” she captioned the clip on Instagram. Bombut commented on the post, writing, “I have no words. It’s been such a blessing to have the opportunity to share the stage with you. Forever grateful @kellyclarkson ❤️❤️❤️.”

Fans loved the “Breakaway” singer’s cover and praised her musical range. ““Nothing’s better than the original” says the women who can pretty much sing anything better than the original! 😍,” one wrote. “So, now we need a Kelly Clarkson album with a full orchestra. Pleeeeeeaaaasssee!,” another said.
“@kellyclarkson is one of the most sincere and genuine artists around, aside from being insanely talented. It’s like watching your best friend up on stage. And she kills it every time.❤️❤️❤️,” a third chimed in.
Clarkson kicked off her Las Vegas residency on Friday, July 11, after postponing it for a week to “protect” her voice.
“We have been working 24/7 to make Studio Sessions the most intimate and extraordinary experience with and for my incredible fans,” she wrote on Instagram on Friday, July 4, ahead of what was meant to be the opening night.
“I am beyond grateful that you always show up for me and I am devastated to have to postpone tonight and tomorrow’s opening at Caesars.”

“The prep and rehearsals have taken a toll on my voice,” Clarkson continued. “I want the shows to be perfect for y’all and I need to protect myself from doing serious damage so I am taking this weekend and next week to rest up so that we can deliver what you all deserve.”
