Naomi Osaka may have a shy personality, but there is nothing shy about the tennis pro’s fashion.
For her US Open match on Tuesday against Belgian player Greet Minnen, Osaka went all out, slipping into a shimmering clementine kit and accessorizing with Swarovski-covered accessories, including red rosettes that she had pinned to her braids.
The orange Nike look was composed of an elaborate tennis minidress, the top of which featured panels sprinkled with crystals and then morphed into a bubble skirt.
The athlete wore a matching jacket, also dotted with gleaming crystals. And the shine didn’t end there. To go with the sparkly rosettes adorning her head, the star wore bright red headphones also covered in crystals, and attached to her duffel bag a fiery red Labubu that was totally blinged out as well. To make matters even better, the little monster carried its own bedazzled blue tennis racket, matching Osaka’s.
The four-time Grand Slam champion completed her ensemble with black Nike staples: a visor, wristbands, and socks. The final sparkle was brought by her large diamond stud earrings.
Osaka may be doing the absolute most, but she is not the only tennis player who is stepping up her fashion on the court this year. Earlier this month at the US Open, Venus Williams championed New York City designers Khaite and Luar with her kits, and for her final match, she accessorized her all-white ERL look with a furry cream racket bag.
Tennis fashion is only getting better, and Osaka—with her fun, maximalist, vibrant fits—is certainly to thank.
