Popular WWE Star Expected To Return After SummerSlam Snub

After being conspicuously absent from the massive two-night SummerSlam premium live event, LA Knight is reportedly expected to make his return to WWE television on tonight’s episode of Monday Night Raw. His return comes amid growing fan frustration over his creative direction, a sentiment the star himself appears to share.

According to a new report from Cory Hays of BodySlam.net, LA Knight is planned for tonight’s highly anticipated post-SummerSlam edition of Raw. This would be his first appearance in several weeks.

Co-Signing The Frustration?

LA Knight’s absence from the SummerSlam card has been a major point of contention for his large and vocal fanbase. Over the weekend, the superstar himself seemed to co-sign this frustration through a subtle but telling social media interaction.

On one of his recent Instagram posts, Knight “liked” a comment from a fan who urged WWE to either push him into the main event scene or let him go to a company that would. The comment specifically told Paul “Triple H” Levesque to either utilize Knight as a top star or “let him go be a main event talent somewhere else.”

The “YEAH!” Movement

The frustration from fans stems from LA Knight’s organic and meteoric rise in popularity over the past two years. His incredible charisma, classic catchphrases, and undeniable connection with the live crowd have made him one of the most popular stars in the entire company, a phenomenon known as the “YEAH!” Movement.

Despite his overwhelming popularity, many fans feel that WWE creative has been hesitant to fully commit to pushing him as a permanent main event fixture. This feeling was amplified by the company’s recent booking decisions.

A Stop-And-Start Push

On July 12th at the Saturday Night’s Main Event special, LA Knight scored the biggest victory of his career when he defeated the multi-time world champion and Mr. Money in the Bank, Seth Rollins. Although Rollins suffered an injury during the bout, a pinfall victory over a star of his caliber is a monumental achievement.

However, WWE did not follow up on this massive win. Knight was left off the two-night, 11-match SummerSlam card entirely, a decision that baffled and angered his supporters. His expected return on tonight’s post-SummerSlam Raw, traditionally one of the biggest shows of the year, could be a pivotal moment for his career.
