Wednesday Fans Are Shipping Enid and Agnes in Season 2 — Here’s Why Emma Myers Says They Shouldn’t

Wednesday may be the object of Agnes’ obsession, but fans of the Netflix drama are beginning to develop an obsession of their own — and it has nothing to do with the titular Addams.

Now streaming, the seventh episode of Season 2 finds Agnes teaming up with Enid for an epic dance routine set to Lady Gaga’s “The Dead Dance.” And while the duo’s perfectly synchronized performance deserves 10’s across the board based on technique alone, it’s the chemistry between the dancers that has fans tweeting — er, posting — some strong feelings they didn’t previously have about the two.

More from TVLine

“Why do I lowkey ship Enid and Agnes?” one viewer writes, while another takes a slightly stronger stance: “I have a new ship and it’s Enid and Agnes. You don’t do a whole dance routine and spin each other around. I’ve never seen a better enemies to lovers.”

Here’s the thing, though — when TVLine presented the possibility of an Enid/Agnes (#Agnid?) relationship to Enid’s portrayer, it was immediately shot down. And shot down hard.

“I say Agnes is a baby, a child,” Emma Myers tells us in response to those fans hoping the Nevermore students will become more than friends. “Maybe ship Enid with somebody her own age. That’s what I’ll say.”

(For the record, 23-year-old Myers is playing Enid at 16, while 16-year-old Evie Templeton is portraying Agnes at roughly 13, putting a three-year age gap between the characters.)

On a happier note, however, Myers says she appreciates that Enid manages to mend fences with Ajax (Georgie Farmer), her ex from Season 1, by the end of the Season 2 finale.

“It was absolutely important to me, because the way that the relationship went about was just terrible, like how they had me essentially cheat on Ajax,” Myers says. “I’m glad that we sort of make amends towards the end, because I love their relationship. Even if they’re not together as a couple, I still want them to be friends, and I hated that we were mean to each other this whole season, because I love working with Georgie. I’m sad that I didn’t get very many scenes with him. I don’t want to be at odds with him next season.”

Then again, Enid has enough on her plate heading into Season 3, considering she’s currently wandering the forest in alpha form… possibly forever.

“I just hope I’m not a werewolf for too long,” Myers tells us. “Keep me as a werewolf for a few episodes, but at least by halfway, please let me be a human.”

Wednesday fans, are you among those misguided shippers who saw a spark between Enid and Agnes, or are you just as opposed to it as Myers? Drop a comment with your thoughts below.
